Prior to her retirement in June 2007, Candace limited her practice to family and juvenile law, emphasizing children’s issues. She has served as a Guardian ad Litem for over twenty years, both in juvenile and family courts. Active in children’s issues, she serves as President of the National association of Counsel for Children (NACC), is a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the Collborative Law Institute and is a Rule 114 Mediator.
She has been recognized in Who’s Who, named a Minnesota Leading Attorney, a Super Lawyer and has been named one of the top 40 family lawyers in Minnesota. She represents parents and children in juvenile and family court in a wide range of custody, parenting time and financial issues. She is past chair of the Juvenile Law Committee of the American Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association.
A trained mediator, Ms. Barr attempts to find an equitable solution for all of her cases. If that cannot be achieved, she is a strong advocate and is certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in Family Law.
